DESCRIPTION:Topeka FEAT Flyer ( https://familiestogetherinc.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/25-26-topeka-FEAT-SHIFTING.pdf )\nFEAT is a free 2-day training for families, youth, young adults, and others who believe that competitive integrated employment is possible, including for individuals who have disabilities.\nSaturday, April 25 & Friday, May 1, 2026\nFEAT is a powerful opportunity for:\n\n\nKansas families, youth, and young adults (ages 13–24) with any disability\n\n\nIndividuals who care for and support them in their journey toward adulthood\n\n\nParticipants will:\n\n\nHear directly from youth and young adults who have successfully transitioned to employment\n\n\nIdentify their strengths, interests, and employment goals\n\n\nLearn how to work while keeping needed benefits\n\n\nConnect with agencies and people who can help them reach their goals\n\n\nExplore post-secondary education options, independent living skills, and community supports\n\n\nSpecial CHASE Youth Sessions will offer breakout activities just for youth and young adults—focusing on goal setting, identifying passions, and planning for the future.\nAttendees will also hear from two dynamic panels:\n\n\nA Youth & Young Adult Panel sharing personal stories of success\n\n\nAn Agency Panel featuring representatives from VR, Pre-ETS, the Workforce Center, the Center for Independent Living, and a Benefits Specialist\n\n\nPlease note: Childcare is not provided. Youth needing one-on-one support may bring a helper or parent to assist.\nWe encourage families to bring a teacher, case manager, family member, or anyone who is part of their youth’s journey.\nJoin us to learn about services, programs, and supports available to support gaining and maintaining employment for youth/young adults who have disabilities. We will share strategies for using person-centered planning to individualize transition services in the IEP and employment outcomes.\n \n
