Parent-to-Parent Support
Parents helping parents has always been the heart of Families Together. Helping families connect with others who have walked a similar path and who understand the challenges of raising a child with a disability or special health care need is a cornerstone of our services.
If you need to talk to another parent who has had a similar journey, or if you would like to be the supportive voice on the other end of the line, call 800-264-6343 or email [email protected].

How It Works + Get Connected
Our Parent-to-Parent program matches Support Parents who have experience raising a child with a disability with parents who need someone to listen, encourage and support them. Matches can be made based on a diagnosis, a new family situation, sibling challenges, medical needs, and more. Once you’re matched, you’ll be able to speak with a fellow parent or caregiver with a similar experience in raising a child with a disability or special health care need. Our Support Parents are trained in providing peer support and empathetic listening.
Reach Out + Get Matched
Call or use our Parent-to-Parent form to get started! We will ask you some simple questions about your family so we can make the best match.
Both you and our Support Parents sign a confidentiality agreement so you can feel safe in sharing about your family.
Become a Support Parent
Answer a few questions through our Parent-to-Parent Form. We will reach out to learn more about you and your family and answer any questions you might have.
From there, you will complete the online, self-guided Parent-to-Parent training and get matched with a parent who needs support.
Topic Talks
Topic Talks are one-hour, twice-monthly online opportunities to connect with parents who have been there—raising children with disabilities and/or special health care needs. Each hour will be devoted to creating community and support, and will be spent discussing topics announced ahead of time.
